Chestnut Hill’s Green Galley Kitchen
Johanna's client initially approached her with a particular design concept for their kitchen renovation. However, following a thorough concept design study, Johanna proposed an innovative space planning solution that not only met their requirements but also doubled the amount of cabinets and countertop space.
In addition to meeting the client's design goals, Johanna prioritized sustainability in this project. She specified handcrafted, American-made cabinetry, opted for quartz countertops, selected energy-efficient appliances, and skillfully refinished old wood doors. The original wood door from the old powder room was refurbished and repurposed, while Mark's resourcefulness led him to salvage another wooden door from a different project. This second door underwent refinishing and was installed in the new powder room.
To enhance the overall experience, Johanna incorporated luxurious amenities, such as radiant floor heating (which also saves on heating in the winter), creating a kitchen that is not only functional but also a comfortable and enjoyable space for cooking and entertaining.
Overall, Johanna's creative and eco-friendly approach to this kitchen renovation has resulted in a stunning and efficient design that exceeds her client's expectations.
